4th OF JULY CONCESSIONS

A huge Color Guard THANK YOU goes out to Teri Leivas and Stephanie Anderson for chairing this event. Remember they can't do this without EVERYONE'S help! Come to the meeting on June 23rd to hear about how you can make this the best year ever!

Remember we need each member to bring in a 12 pack of soda as well. Here is the breakdown of what you need to bring:

Afshari - Coloma .... Diet Coke

Cota - Lamb .... Coke

Leivas - Porter .... Root Beer

Sablaon - Yates .... Sprite

Be sure to write your last name on the 12 pack and have a captain sign off that you brought in your soda!

** There is rehearsal with the band for the 4th of July Parade on Friday, July 3rd from 5:00pm - 6:30pm **

SUMMER REHEARSAL NEEDS

Summer rehearsals have begun! Please try to attend as many as possible! They are every Tuesday from 4:30p-7:30p for everyone. Then Wenesday from 4:30p-7:30p for anyone interested in spinning a rifle or sabre. Check the Calender of Events for more details

It's hard to believe that registration for the 2009-2010 season has begun! Registration will take place in the Orchestra Room. Below is the remaining date.

DRUM CORP RETURNS TO VISTA H.S.

Looking for something fun to do this 4th of July weekend after watching the fireworks on the 4th, and visting the Color Guard concession stand?

Drum Corp International (DCI) considered "Marching Music's Major League" returns again this year to Vista High School for the "Corps at the Crest" on Sunday, July 5th.

Some of the top Drum Corps scheduled to compete, include:

THE ACADEMY - Tempe, AZ

PACIFIC CREST - Diamond Bar

VELVET KNIGHTS - Pasadena, CA

MANDARINS - Sacramento, CA

MYSTIKAL - Long Beach, CA

BLUE DEVILS - Concord, CA

SUMMER SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES

As you may have seen, PUSD will NOT be offering summer school this coming summer. One class most color guard/band students take during this time is Health. Rancho Bernardo HS is offering an opportunity to complete the health class requirement online through Brigham Young University. There is a fee associated with this. For more details please click HERE.

A couple other classes you may take are US History and World History this is through “Pacific View Charter School” in Oceanside. Registration for these classes is now open. The website is www.pacificview.org. You can call 760-757-0161 ask for extension 122, Jared Beck or extension 111 Mary Roberts. This are no fees associated with these classes.

Interested students must first obtain a "Pre-Authorization" form from the office. Once this form is approved you can then sign up for the class. PLEASE NOTE: If you take the class online without pre-authorization, you will NOT receive credit from RBHS.

There are some other fee-based classes for students who wish to accelerate their learning. Poway Adult School will be offereing these classes, and the cost is $194 for a semester course. All of these courses earn PUSD high school credit. Please register by June 8th. A minimum number of students is required for each class to run, and these classes are subject to cancellation if they are under-enrolled.

The courses being offered include: U.S. History 1 and 2; Computer Information Systems; Health; and Physical Education.

Poway Adult School Summer School classes will run from 8:00-12:15, Monday through Friday, and will offer two semester-equivalent sessions. The first session will be from June 22-July 14, and the second session will be from July 15-August 5. Classes will be offered at both Poway High School and Mt. Carmel High School.

Students may register on-line, by phone, or in person. Enrollment in classes will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Students interested in classes should visit http://www.powayadultschool.com or call the Poway Adult School office at (858) 668-4024.
